Walter USA LLC is looking for:
Project Engineers (multiple openings) in Greer SC
Key Performance Areas:
- Create cutting tooling solutions to process customer components and manage projects through to successful completion.
- Serve as the main contact between Walter production units Engineering and Sales teams to ensure special cutting tools and projects are delivered correctly and on time.
- Apply knowledge of cutting tool technology to generate accurate and timely quotes for engineered custom cutting tool products.
- Analyze customer requirements to ensure the requested tools are within engineering and manufacturing capability and can be fabricated and produced profitably.
- Develop custom tooling concepts to meet customer needs working in conjunction with sales personnel.
- Present engineering quotations and concept drawings to customers to ensure a complete understanding of the products features application and functionality.
- Create engineering documentation of the data generated throughout the testing process including cutting criteria feeds and speeds and machining times.
- Monitor and drive special projects to completion including the evaluation of the success or failure of the project and appropriate allocation of projects to the financial accounts.
- Monitor proposed modifications to existing tool technology.
- Collect and analyze quote dispositions to determine accuracy of data and rationale for orders placed or rejected by customers.
- Monitor the manufacturing of cutting tools by acting as liaison between engineering and manufacturing to ensure the cutting tool product meets customer tooling needs and delivery deadlines.
- Provide engineering support at the initial startup of the manufacturing process and during production.
- Facilitate the problem-solving process for modifications of the product during manufacturing/production.
- Prepare reports and presentations regarding the progress of projects for the Engineering Manager.
Your Profile
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering and five (5) years of experience as Application Engineer Engineer Supervisor and/or Engineer Manager.
- Alternatively we will accept an Associates degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering Technology and five (5) years of experience as Application Engineer Engineer Manager and/or Engineer Supervisor.
- The five years of experience must have included designing metal cutting tools including review of quotations and project proposals design deliverables design feasibility production planning resource planning and scheduling for cutting tool development. The five years of experience must also have included the use of NX Design and Veros Software.
- Up to 20% domestic and international travel required.
