You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailIn a fast-paced environment the 6-Month contract position for our Shipper is responsible for shipping the orders and transfers that are related to its Distribution Center. The Shipper will ensure to meet the expectations of our customers using the TMS provided by our Traffic Department and by working in collaboration with other departments. In dealing with customers and drivers the Shipper is encouraged to behave authoritatively and to uphold the high safety and quality standards that IPEX expects of all its employees.
Hour of Work: Monday through Friday 8:00AM-4:30PM - 6 Month Contract
Compensation: Salary Range Starts at $44800

Dispatch (assign) orders as they are released taking into consideration delivery dates and locations. Maintain the sequence of picking according to the priority rating and zoning of the orders
Handle and prioritize rush shipments and customer pick-ups
Using the rating/transport systems in place (TMS) choose the best possible carriers for each order
Dispatch the orders and transfers according to the service and quality standards of IPEX
Trace shipments by phone or internet
Handle calls regarding orders and customer inquiries. Manage desk for drivers and customer pick-ups
Process Bill of Ladings (BOLs) correctly and efficiently. Ensure that the information on said BOLs is accurate and complete
Maintain an orderly file system for documents and records (Bill of Lading Sales Orders RMAs etc) as per C-TPAT
Other duties as may be assigned
Completion of a college degree and/or experience in similar type of environment
Must have good writing skills and be fluent in English
Knowledge of Microsoft Office ie: Word Excel and Outlook
Must complete certification/training for Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) WHMIS and C-TPAT
Forklift Driver Training Certificate is an asset
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Must be able to handle stress and adapt to workload changes and requests ability to work independently and in a team environment
Must be able to pass a Criminal Background Check
When working in the office physical effort is minimal as it requires occasional carrying and/or lifting of small objects and walking through the warehouse and office areas. Stress is high and is created by the need to prioritize and deadlines. Some loading of LTL and Courier shipments may be required.
The incumbent understands respects and adheres to the workplace health and safety rules and regulations.
