Job Description

The Good Spirit School Division Invites applications for a Temporary Full-Time Summer Student

The Summer student will assist the IT HR and Payroll departments with various procedures to maintain efficiencies within the departments as well as assist in set-up for the upcoming year.

Start & End dates:

July 2 2025 to August 29 2025.

Assignment/Contract:

Temporary Full Time - 7.5 hours/day

In accordance with the Out of Scope Salary Grid

Assignment and Term:

  • This position is a temporary full-time job. The position consists of 7.5 hours/day and will be in accordance with the 12-month employee calendar.
  • The position commences July 2 and expires August 29 2025 and the work schedule will be periods will be scheduled in accordance with the current collective bargaining agreement.

The duties of a Summer Student are to:

  • Implement the work plan for the Department; meets with staff to identify and resolve problems; completes work activities projects and programs
  • Configure computer systems as instructed by the Information Technology Manager
  • Perform other duties and obligations as assigned by the Information Technology Manager HR Manager or HR Superintendent.

The successful candidate will have the desired qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in High School or Post-Secondary Education.
  • Acute attention to detail adaptability flexibility and the ability to work as a team member.
  • General computer skills including but not limited to: word processing document creation general computer use cleaning and scanning.
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to be organized.
  • Valid Drivers license and reliable vehicle.

Salary and Benefits:

  • The successful candidate will be paid on a monthly basis at an hourly rate of $15.00/hr plus $1.00 per year with service with GSSD.
  • Benefits include participation in the Saskatchewan School Board Association(SSBA) Employee Benefits Plan the Municipal Employees Pension Plan (MEPP) and opportunities to attend professional development seminars.

Applicants not currently working for GSSD will be required to submit a recent (within the last six months) criminal record and vulnerable sector check acceptable to the Board of Education prior to offer of employment.
