About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Financial Director the Accountant (Casual) role is established to assist our businesses with accounting work on a needs basis.
Our ideal candidate will have the skills and experience to perform the following:
- Input data on our Infinium Accounting Software relating to general ledger accounts payable accounts receivable and inmate trust accounts.
- Monitor the preparation recording and balancing of payments and receipts through electronic cash books and their balancing accounts.
- Prepare and manage accounts and reporting monthly as needed.
- Reconcile Balance Sheet ledger accounts.
- Prepare and submit BAS.
- Coordinate and maintain asset register including depreciation calculation.
- Ensure compliance with all Company Policies and Procedures and the Governance Risk and Compliance Manual.
- Support the Accounts Payable and Receivable functions when required.
- Assist with the pricing elements of tender work and contract modifications.
- Accounting related project work.
Skills and Experience
- An appropriate accounting qualification and relevant experience.
- Working knowledge of Australian Standards of Accounting and accounting practices.
- Working knowledge of Excel and experience with a database accounting software package.
- Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to organise and prioritise effectively.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines as prescribed by management.
Desirable:
- Demonstrated experience in both financial and management accounting
