Essential Functions

Essential functions are fundamental core functions common to all positions in the class series and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all job duties for any one position in the class.   • Examines identifies arranges and classifies books/documents/electronic tapes/publications/records according to a pre-determined classification system.
  • Develops item descriptions noting content format/media arrangement and relation to provenance/origin.
  • Assists patrons/researchers by explaining the facilitys resources gathering available information/materials and demonstrating equipment operation.
  • Applies conservation and preservation techniques to aged or damaged books/ documents/electronic tapes/records by unfolding cleaning repairing tears removing tape placing in acid free containers filming refilming media/technological migration.
  • Attends workshops conferences and seminars to receive training related to the identification care and maintenance of books/documents/records held by public agencies and accessible to the general public.

Job Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS for Information Resources Supervisor
Applicants must have education training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:

  1. Three years experiencein archives records management or library services.
  2. Three years experiencein research which includes systematic study to discover or establish facts.
  3. Two years experience in presenting training courses which includes using a variety of training methods such as lecture structured exercises role play or group discussion as well as the use of training materials such as overheads PowerPoint handouts or videos.
  4. One year experience in preparing and developing training courses.
  5. One year experience in interpreting laws rules regulations standards policies and procedures.
  6. Knowledge of grant management and control which includes monitoring and evaluating grant expenditures.
  7. Knowledge of staff supervision acquired through course work academic training training provided through an employer or performing as a lead worker overseeing the work of others; OR supervising staff which may include planning assigning reviewing and evaluating the work of others; OR supervising through subordinate supervisors a group of professional technical and clerical employees.
