Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) seeks a highly competent Senior Data Management Specialist (Management Systems Analyst Senior) to lead data management and governance for the Solid Waste Line of Business (SWLOB) consistent with theOne Seattle Data Strategy.

The Senior Data Management Specialist will create implement and continuously improve architecture policies and procedures to manage the SWLOB data lifecycle and will keep the data organized consistent secure and compliant with relevant standards and regulations. This will include leading projects that result in higher quality standards greater data literacy and culture within the SWLOB and improved access to analysis and use of data to better serve SPU ratepayers and advance Seattleszero waste goals.

Job Responsibilities

Data management and governance

Lead data management and governance for SPUs Solid Waste Line of Business (SWLOB) consistent with applicable policy and collaborate with SWLOB employees and other stakeholders to increase the accuracy and quality of data leading to well-informed decisions high service quality and lower costs.

Continuous improvement of business operations

Lead continuous improvement efforts and facilitate the use of digital tools to optimize internal SWLOB operations and better serve internal SWLOB customers and SPU ratepayers.

Data literacy and culture

Increase awareness of access to training around and use of data to facilitate data analysis and data-driven decision-making within the SWLOB.

Qualifications

Experience:Minimum of three (3)three years of experience in systems operations procedures research or analysis.


Education:Bachelors degree in business or public administration finance computer science or a related field


Education and Experience Equivalency:Combinations of appropriate education training certification and experience will be evaluated on an individual basis for comparability to the minimum education and experience requirements.

Workplace Environment:This position allows for the flexibility of a hybrid work will have the option to work remotely two days a schedules will be agreed upon by the employee and their supervisor.


The full salary range for this position is $54.28 - $63.26 per hour.
