Job Description
Job Purpose:
Position works with Sales and Technical staff to interpret project specifications and drawings determine system layout and develop bill of materials with installation labor projections for a successful project.
Salary Range for This Position: $25.00- $33.00 per hour -- Depending on relevant experience education and other factors
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for design layout of access control intrusion detection fire alarm voice/data and paging systems.
- Assist with product data submittals and submission of shop drawings
- Utilize system knowledge design tools and available resources to assist in system design tasks as needed.
- Knowledge of industry engineering math and materials.
- Ability to analyze data and situations and come up with creative solutions.
- Keep up to date on industry and engineering standards.

Required Skills & Abilities:
- Intermediate to advanced skill level for CAD program is necessary for this position.
- Demonstrated experience with design of low voltage electrical systems is preferred.
- Technical design experience of intercom commercial sound and A/V is preferred.
- Experience in commercial security or fire alarm systems is a plus.
- Must be self-motivated and punctual.
- Must know Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel.
- Must be able to manage multiple tasks and have excellent follow-up skills both internally and externally.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to demonstrate planning organizing and implementing skills which allow the successful completion of a project by a specific due date.
- Strong team player
Education License and Experience:
- CAD Certificate (with applicable experience) or 2/4-year degree
- Five years of experience in related field.
Physical Requirements:
- Requires prolonged sitting standing some bending stooping and stretching. Requires manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination for data input.
- Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 20 pounds.
- Must maintain a clear background check in order to satisfy customer jobsite badging requirements.
- Consistent reliable and timely attendance
- Maintain a clear drug and alcohol screening protocol.
- Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
Travel Requirements:
- Travel to customer jobsites when necessary
