About the Role
The Plant Manager is a senior-level operations leader responsible for overseeing all aspects of production resource management and continuous improvement within a manufacturing facility. This role ensures operational efficiency cost-effectiveness and quality output while aligning day-to-day activities with long-term strategic goals. Key functions include team leadership budgeting project management and technology integration. This position requires strong expertise in operations management team leadership financial oversight and manufacturing process optimization.
Responsibilities:
- Lead daily plant operations from job order to product delivery ensuring efficiency and quality standards
- Develop and execute strategic operational plans aligned with business objectives and customer requirements
- Manage production schedules budgets staffing and resources to maximize throughput and profitability
- Oversee machinery and equipment utilization to reduce downtime and increase operational efficiency
- Analyze and improve operational workflows processes and systems using data-driven decision-making
- Implement lean manufacturing practices to reduce waste and streamline processes
- Provide strong leadership and mentorship to cross-functional teams promoting a culture of accountability and excellence
- Set clear performance goals conduct evaluations and offer continuous feedback and training
- Foster cross-departmental collaboration to achieve company-wide goals
- Prepare and manage plant budgets monitor expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Evaluate implement and manage technology solutions that enhance productivity and support business growth
- Oversee ERP and operational system integration across departments for improved data visibility and control
- Build and maintain relationships with vendors customers and other external stakeholders
- Ensure high customer satisfaction through timely delivery product quality and efficient operations
- Generate accurate operational reports and communicate insights to senior leadership
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in business operations management engineering or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior operations or plant management role
- Proven ability to manage budgets cross-functional teams and production schedules
- Strong leadership and team development skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proficiency in ERP systems and operational software tools
- Strong project management experience with an ability to handle multiple priorities
- Expertise in operational performance analysis and strategic planning
- Demonstrated success in leading process improvement and cost-reduction initiatives
Desired Qualifications:
- Master of Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent advanced degree
- 710 years of experience in manufacturing operations plant leadership or industrial production
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing Six Sigma or continuous improvement methodologies
- Experience with large-scale capital project implementation or facility expansion
- Familiarity with advanced technologies for operational automation and process integration
- Strong financial acumen and understanding of P&L management
- Ability to lead change management initiatives in a dynamic production environment
