The Team
MCFDs community-based Child and Youth Mental Health (CYMH) team is a dedicated group of experienced clinicians including full-time and part-time professionals an outreach support worker and a supportive team leader. Together we bring energy expertise and a commitment to knowledge-sharing working alongside families and community partners to deliver wrap-around support for children youth and their families. The Role
Child and Youth Mental Health Clinicians provide direct clinical services such as intake assessment treatment suicide risk assessment safety plans and crisis intervention for children and youth from birth to age 18 and their families. Clinicians work in flexible ways including in home school and community settings. Through consultation the CYMH Clinician will build and maintain relationships to support coordinated services and positive outcomes for children youth and families.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Masters in Counselling Social Work Educational Counselling Clinical Counselling Clinical Psychology or Child and Youth Care or comparable graduate degree at the Masters level in a similar subject may be considered.
    • NOTE:If your degree was obtained outside of Canada you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services (ICES). You must provide a basic report by the closing date of this posting to be considered.
  • Minimum of 1 year full-time equivalent experience working with children and youth and their families with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services; OR a full (school year) of CYMH practicum experience could be considered as equivalent experience.


Preference may be given to applicants with the following:

  • Two years or more experience working with children and youth and their families with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services.
  • Applicants who self-identify as having an Indigenous heritage (First Nations Mtis or Inuit) with the required combination of education and experience.
