- Remuneration: $120k 11.5% super salary packaging 5 weeks annual leave
- Reports To: Chief Executive Officer
- Hours: Normal business hours with occasional additional hours as required to meet business needs including some out-of-hours flexibility when necessary
- Travel: Travel to regional locations where Saltbush operates may be required and will be planned in advance with mutual agreement

Primary Purpose of Position: Saltbush is committed to delivering high-quality workplace training to individuals groups and organisations throughout the Northern Territory.
The RTO Manager is responsible for the skillful management of operational functions as they relate to a Registered Training Organisation ensuring compliance with the VET Quality Framework and strategic growth of the Training Division.
You will also contribute to strategic planning and implementation supporting the sustainability compliance and financial performance of the Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) Program.
This leadership role currently manages a team of Trainers with a focus on individual development team engagement and alignment with Saltbushs mission and values.
Success in this role requires strong stakeholder management skills to foster internal and external collaboration paired with a solutions-focused mindset to navigate challenges and drive continuous improvement.
With a focus on a quality learner experience management responsibility also includes strategic planning business development course management training delivery and assessment stakeholder engagement and leadership of the Training team.
Working collaboratively as part of the Saltbush Leadership Team within a dynamic fast paced environment the RTO Manager is fundamental in contributing to the sustainability of the organisation.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
To ensure success in the role as RTO Manager the key duties and responsibilities will include:
- Day to day business management of the Training Division to ensure smooth and efficient operation of the business.
- Drive business growth through the establishment of networks within industry other stakeholders and funding bodies.
- Ensure ongoing compliance through management of Training contracts with regulatory bodies such as ASQA Government agencies and others including Third Party Arrangements.
- Manage all aspects of compliance within the VET Quality Framework and ASQA Framework.
- Determine plan and implement project initiatives that provide Saltbush with a contribution to organisational goals and reputation.
- Manage diverse stakeholder relationships ensuring cohesive working arrangements for the benefit of learners and the organisation.
- Manage all aspects of the Divisions performance within budget requirements including forecasting funding applications expenditure and income reporting and asset management.
- Provide leadership to the Saltbush Training team through collaborative and innovative practices that deliver professional development positive engagement and stability in a small and diverse team.
- Ensure Saltbush is represented at industry events tradeshows conferences or other forums appropriate to organisational purpose and future plans.
- Ensure policies procedure and practices contribute to a business and workplace committed to continuous improvement whilst being efficient and innovative.
- Establish and maintain working relationships with local industries employers service providers and relevant government agencies.
Essential Criteria:
- Current Certificate IV Training and Assessment !or equivalent Diploma) and/or Business Management or related Qualifications along with a minimum of five years in a leadership and management role.
- Strong knowledge of the VET sector competency-based training and the VET Quality Framework including demonstrated proficiency in maintaining compliance against the Standards for RTOs.
- Experience with conducting internal audits industry consultation and assessment validation along with a demonstrated knowledge of reporting of AVETMISS compliant data.
- Sound business acumen with the ability to implement business strategies and manage an administration and training team.
- Strong organisational planning negotiation and time management skills with an ability to prioritise and manage workload meet deadlines and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Proficiency in using computer software including but not limited to Microsoft Office Programs and Student Management Systems such as Vettrak.
- Experience in the oversight development and tracking of finances with the ability to forecast costs and budgets for training and development activities.
- Ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders and interact effectively with a diverse range of people including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders using exceptional interpersonal verbal & written communication skills.
