The position

As the Financial Controller at Tiimely youll lead our finance function across strategy operations and performance. Youll bring strong commercial acumen a proactive mindset and a passion for building high-performing teams and scalable systems.

Youll be responsible for:

  • Leadership & Team Development: Leading mentoring and developing a small but capable Finance team. You will foster a high-performance culture provide development opportunities and ensure the team has clarity support and direction.
  • Financial Planning & Reporting: Owning the financial calendar including annual budgeting long-range forecasting board and investor reporting and monthly management reporting. Youll ensure timely accurate and insightful financial results are delivered to the business.
  • Financial Operations: Overseeing core finance operations including payroll accounts payable and receivable bank reconciliations and month-end close processes. Youll implement and maintain effective internal controls and ensure robust segregation of duties.
  • Tax Audit & Compliance: Ensuring compliance with statutory financial reporting and tax obligations. You will manage external relationships with financial auditors tax advisors and other financial partners.
  • Process & Systems Improvement: Identifying and delivering improvements to financial processes leveraging technology to simplify streamline and scale. Youll work with the business to improve budgeting cost controls and financial transparency.
  • Strategic Finance & Commercial Support: Partnering with leaders across the business to support strategic planning growth initiatives business cases pricing strategies and capital allocation decisions.
  • Governance & Corporate Management: Maintaining and contributing to governance frameworks as well as leading financial input into key corporate initiatives such as restructuring funding and M&A activity.

The successful candidate

Heres some of the things wed like you to bring:

  • Degree in accounting coupled with a professional qualification such as a CA/CPA will be highly preferable.
  • Prior industry experience in the Technology Financial Services or Fintech domain is highly regarded.
  • Embrace technology as an enabler of seamless financial management and processes.
  • Proven experience working in similar financial leadership positions.
  • Experience supporting executive decision-making and Board engagement.
  • A passion for guiding mentoring and developing others.
  • Highly experienced in technical accounting and a strategic financial management background (focus on key performance metrics and ability to inform and influence business decisions).
  • Good communication skills (both verbal and written form).
  • Comfortable with stakeholder engagement and partnering across cross-functional teams Telling the story through numbers to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Be a critical thinker with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
