What youll be doing
- Develop create and modify computer applications software.
- Build products that will be used by Roku engineers from across the company.
- Build large-scale services to enrich Roku experience across millions of devices.
- Deliver both platform and product features taking an idea from ideation to production deployment and support.
- Contribute to the technical vision of our cloud-based Application Publishing Platform.
- Drive best practices across the entire development life cycle including code and design reviews.
- Lead efforts to evaluate new technologies and continue to push for best practices.
- Manage project priorities deadlines and deliverables driving to make change and get things done.
- Use ability to lead design and implementation of backend services and understanding of different data platforms.
Up to two days per week telecommuting may be permitted.
You are required to have
- Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science Computer Engineering Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 5 years of progressive experience in the position as a Software Engineer or a related occupation.
- Must have at least 1 year of prior work experience in the following:
- Building large scale cloud based distributive systems on at least one of the following: AWS GCP or Azure.
- Messaging systems using at least one of the following: Kafka RabbitMQ or ActiveMQ.
- Working with at least one of the following Databases: PostgreSQL MySQL or DynamoDB.
- At least one of the following modern object-oriented programming languages: Python or Java.
- Building APIs using either REST or SOAP.
