This position serves as the Data Center Network Security Supervisor leading and directing the evolution and development of the Data Center and Cloud Security Team(s) by organizing planning executing controlling and evaluating the security of both physical data centers and cloud-based infrastructures. In this role you will direct formulate and effectuate the development of comprehensive policies programs and procedures for Network Operations to ensure security best practices for cloud workloads including data encryption identity management and vulnerability scanning. In addition you will monitor and analyze network traffic to detect and respond to potential security incidents ensuring effective documentation investigation and reporting of security incidents and providing technical consultative assistance to supported agencies. This position directs technical program budget preparation and controls appropriation of technology expenditures;

- Under general direction serves as the Data Center Network Security Supervisor for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT) leading and directing the evolution and development of the Data Center and Cloud Security Team(s) by organizing planning executing controlling and evaluating the security of both physical data centers and cloud-based infrastructures.
- Directs formulates and effectuates the development of comprehensive policies programs and procedures for Network Operations to ensure security best practices for cloud workloads including data encryption identity management and vulnerability scanning.
- Monitors and analyzes network traffic to detect and respond to potential security incidents ensuring effective documentation investigation and reporting of security incidents and providing technical consultative assistance to supported agencies.
- Directs technical program budget preparation and controls appropriation of technology expenditures.
- Keeps abreast of new developments in the information technology field by continuing education through meetings training sessions seminars and conferences to increase familiarity with and remain current on products vendors techniques and procedures.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge skill and mental development equivalent to the completion of four (4) years of college with coursework in management information systems data processing telecommunications or directly related fields.
- Requires prior experience equivalent to three (3) years of progressively responsible administrative experience in management information systems data processing or telecommunications in a public or business organization.
Specialized Skills
- Requires three (3) years of professional experience leading planning implementing and assessing security measures for both physical data centers and cloud-based infrastructures (AWS Azure or GCP) ensuring robust protection and compliance with industry standards.
- Requires three (3) years of professional experience applying network security principles including expertise in security tools routing switching firewalls IPS/IDS DNS and DHCP to safeguard enterprise networks and cloud environments.
- Requires three (3) years of professional experience developing implementing and aligning security policies procedures and programs for cloud workloads and network operations with industry standards and best practices.
- Requires three (3) years of professional experience in network traffic monitoring threat detection and incident response including conducting risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities establish mitigation plans and document security incidents across data center and cloud environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Three (3) years of professional experience leading planning implementing and assessing security measures for both physical data centers and cloud-based infrastructures (AWS Azure or GCP) ensuring robust protection and compliance with industry standards.
- Three (3) years of professional experience applying network security principles including expertise in security tools routing switching firewalls IPS/IDS DNS and DHCP to safeguard enterprise networks and cloud environments.

- Three (3) years of professional experience in network traffic monitoring threat detection and incident response including conducting risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities establish mitigation plans and document security incidents across data center and cloud environments.
- Three (3) years of professional experience directing technology budget planning expenditure control and cost analysis for network infrastructure and services including procurement and vendor negotiations.
- Ability to analyze technical requirements collect and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for network operations and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance security posture and incident response effectiveness.
- Extensive knowledge of applicable state and federal data laws and regulations with the ability to ensure alignment with security policies and risk management strategies.
- Ability to develop and review technical language for procurement documents (RFI RFP IFB) and collaborate with legal teams to finalize contract agreements for networking technologies and services.
- Ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships while effectively conveying complex security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
