You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailFIRST LEGO LEAGUE COACHES (Middle Level) POSTING 2025-2026 SY FIRST Tech Challenge students learn to think like engineers. Teams design build and code robots to compete in an alliance format against other teams. Guided by adult coaches and mentors students develop STEM skills and practice engineering principles while realizing the value of hard work innovation and working as a team.
The program is built around theme-based Challenges to engage middle school (leading into high school) aged students in research problem solving coding and engineering. The foundation of the program is the FIRST Core Values which emphasize teamwork discovery and innovation. Students emerge more confident excited and equipped with the skills they need in a changing workforce.
Coaches are expected to fully engage with team competitions including participation in the Battle in Bensalem one-day of the weekend long event. If a team qualifies for regional or state-level tournaments the coach is expected to attend and support the team at those events as part of the assignment. Coaches must also be mindful of overlapping responsibilities from extra-pay contracts and are expected to be present and actively working with their team(s) during practices competitions and key events.
Building Coach - Middle School Role and Responsibility: Manage up to three teams (approximately 10 members per team) within said elementary building(s).
Recruit members for team(s).
Supervise all team members during practices competitions events and travel to ensure a safe and positive learning environment.
Create and maintain open communication with parents.
Run after-school practices weekly Maintain records and forms for all teams and team members.
Attend and support competitions: Required participation in the Battle in Bensalem (one-day of the weekend competition start to finish). Attendance at regional and/or state events if team(s) qualify.
Collaborate through coach meetings at least once a month (with head coach)
Coordinate volunteers for team as well as being their contact person
Develop and follow a team budget.
Order and maintain all supplies for teams. - 2 -
Fundraising: Run a fundraiser for t-shirts for your team(s). Contribute to overall league fundraising efforts (e.g. approximately 4 hours of volunteer time on the off day during Battle in Bensalem or other league activities). In coordination with the league head coach.
Complete other duties as needed/assigned for a successful program.
Assignment Parameters: Season runs August-December and April-June Compensation $2500.00 Interviews may be necessary to determine the best-qualified person. Experience with FIRST Robotics is suggested but not required. Positions are available in the following locations:
