Job Description:
This position serves as the Educational Coordinator of the Pathologists Assistant Program and is responsible for assisting the Program Director in the organization development planning and general effectiveness of the Pathologists Assistant program. In addition this individual assists in the performance of surgical pathology and autopsy services and is able to work independently when performing professional duties associated with the preparation performance and completion of autopsies and examination and/or preparations of the surgical pathology specimens with general supervision of a pathologist.
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduate of a NAACLS-accredited (AAPA approved prior to 1995) Pathologists Assistant educational program with an advanced degree (masters or doctoral)
Currently holds ASCP-BOC or ASCPi-BOC certification as a Pathologists Assistant
Preferred Qualifications:
Has practical knowledge of educational methods and current accreditation and certification procedures
