Our client is looking to add an experienced quality individual to their team in Akron! Our client is a world leader in the manufacturing of thermoplastic and molded plastic components for the automotive industry. Having been in business for close to 40 years they show no signs of slowing down and are looking for experienced quality individual to come in and hit the ground running with their team.
The quality engineer will have a variety of responsibilities to include Customer/Supplier PPAP activity laboratory testing requirements Process Control Plan FMEA and Flow Diagram development.
Qualified individuals will need to have proven experience in quality within the automotive industry.
Responsibilities:
- Develop monitor and maintain internal inspection plans and process control plans for receiving in-process and final inspection
- Lead the process for the development monitoring and maintenance of cell documentation
- Responsible for the monitoring measuring and troubleshooting of product quality and process performance for continual improvement
- Responsible for managing SPC activities including capability studies as required for key and
special characteristics
- Knowledge and use of measuring equipment calibrations and MSA including Gage R&R activities
- APQP Process FMEA Flow Diagram and Control Plan development and maintenance including
customer specific requirements
- Prepare and submit customer PPAP requirements per customer requirements including
coordination of supplier PPAPs and subsequent review and approvals
- Facilitate corrective action process for nonconformities relating to product process and quality
management system including: interface with internal/external customer(s)/supplier(s); problem
solving; problem prevention for effective investigation and resolution; and management of
nonconforming and/or suspect product.
- Interface with Suppliers Customers S&A Departments and APPI Departments as necessary
to ensure product quality and customer satisfaction
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years Quality experience and/or education
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 Automotive Quality Systems
- 4-year college degree PREFERRED
- GD&T knowledge PREFERRED
