This Senior Cloud FinOps Consultant position is a client-facing role responsible for co-leading the Microsoft sales engagement process. Taking advantage of recent Microsoft Enterprise Agreement (EA) program changes this person will spearhead the conversion of Microsoft customers from EAs to the Trace3 Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) program for both licensing and Azure opportunities. This will include interfacing with our eight sales regions/verticals on opportunities for both existing and net-new customers. In addition this cross-functional role encompasses internal duties such as employee training FinOps team strategy development and increasing operational excellence.

What youll do:

Thought Leadership and Industry Best Practices

Maintain key knowledge of all Microsoft licensing and Azure offerings along with general awareness of AWS and GCP service offerings.

  • Align Trace3 FinOps and licensing solutions within these frameworks and best practices working cross-functionally with engineering business and consulting teams.

Microsoft CSP Sales Engagement and Execution

  • Provide expert advice on Microsoft agreement options focusing on CSP EA and Open Value. With knowledge of other Microsoft agreement offerings such as MPSA Select MAC-E SCE etc.
  • Assist in creating and executing company-wide sales engagement plans to identify EA to CSP conversions for both existing and net-new customers based on the latest Microsoft EA tiering classifications.
  • Support sales and technical teams in developing and presenting licensing solutions to customers through consultation and design of optimal licensing environments.
  • Conduct licensing environment assessments and audits to ensure compliance and optimize licensing costs.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to design and implement optimal licensing environments.
  • Manage relationships with Microsoft and internal key stakeholders by staying current with the latest Microsoft program changes and updates.
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior team members on licensing best practices and program knowledge.
  • Assist in delivering enablement sessions on Microsoft licensing for internal teams and customers.

Process Improvement

  • Research align and implement technical and business enhancements to Trace3s Microsoft CSP offering with the goal of continually improving customer success.
  • Analyze new cloud provider and third-party tooling options to help in the optimization and automation of internal processes.

Growth and Strategy

  • Participate in strategic departmental planning to support future growth and team success.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to team members assisting in solving technical challenges and ensuring the successful delivery of complex projects.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of five years of sales support accounting and/or business operations experience
  • 5-10 years of experience in Microsoft licensing programs and policies
    • Experience in consulting with customers on Microsoft solutions and measuring outcomes
    • Experience working in Microsoft partner channel with partners distributors and customers.
    • In depth knowledge of operational processes around Microsoft licensing programs such as agreement terms quoting requirements and ordering processes.
    • Experience with Microsoft CSP EA and Open Value programs
  • Experience with Partner Center and other Microsoft program tools and portals.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex licensing projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively interact with customer business finance and technical teams.
  • Ability to efficiently manage and prioritize multiple projects and associated tasks.
  • Previous experience with cloud services.


PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Cloud FinOps Practitioner certification
  • Microsoft and/or Azure certifications
  • Familiarity with Google Workspaces (aka GSuite)
  • Familiarity with cloud concepts for AWS Azure and GCP
  • Familiarity with FinOps concepts and strategies
Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors including location experience skill set performance licensure and certification and business needs. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation such as bonuses or commissions that is not included in the base salary.

Estimated Pay Range

$80000 - $150000 USD
