Job Description
Overview:
The Service Provider will support and maintain Epic infrastructure across production and non-production environments. This includes system configuration performance monitoring disaster recovery and integration with third-party applications.
Key Responsibilities:
Infrastructure & System Management:
Configure manage and monitor Epic systems end-to-end including Hyperspace MyChart Interconnect and Epic Print Services.
Maintain a fully replicated offsite Epic environment for disaster recovery.
Administer multiple non-production environments for development testing and training.
Establish and support business continuity systems for planned and unplanned downtimes.
Database & Application Support:
Install configure upgrade and maintain Epic Cache databases and the ECP Cache mid-tier layer.
Manage intra-environment connections and coordinate build/configuration migrations to production.
Monitor system performance using System Pulse and custom tools for tuning and optimization.
Oversee daily server backups and respond to failures.
Operational Support:
Provide Epic-certified staffing for client-server systems Cache DB administration and Data Courier roles.
Perform production control activities during business hours.
Manage daily incident task and change requests.
Assist with workstation/server sizing upgrades and procurement planning.
Implementation & Integration:
Lead or support Epic system implementations in healthcare settings.
Ensure seamless integration with third-party applications as specified by BSWH.
Configure Epic modules to meet organizational needs.
Training & Optimization:
Train healthcare staff on Epic usage and develop user documentation.
Analyze system usage and implement upgrades to enhance performance.
Collaborate with clinical and operational teams to align system functionality with workflows.
Compliance & Security:
Ensure Epic systems comply with healthcare regulations and data privacy standards.
Implement and maintain security protocols.
Conduct regular audits and assessments.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors degree in Healthcare IT or related field.
Experience: Several years of Epic system support in a healthcare environment.
Certifications: Epic certifications in relevant modules (e.g. EpicCare Ambulatory Inpatient).
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Epic configuration healthcare workflows HL7/FHIR integration.
Soft Skills: Strong communication collaboration and problem-solving abilities.
Example Projects:
EMR Connector: Developed APIs for patient access drug formulary and Epic/Cerner integration.
Interoperability Solutions: Implemented FHIR services patient portals and secure API access.

Compensation and Benefits
A candidates pay within the range will depend on their work location skills experience education and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses subject to company policies. In addition this role is eligible for the following benefits subject to company policies: medical dental vision pharmacy life accidental death & dismemberment and disability insurance; employee assistance program; 401(k) retirement plan; 10 days of paid time off per year (some positions are eligible for need-based leave with no designated number of leave days per year); and 10 paid holidays per year.
