Overview
Assistant Nurse Manager ICU
Nursing Administration
Full Time 1.0 FTE
Night Shift - Varied Hours
**$10000 Sign-On Bonus
The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) assists the Nurse Manager in the management of day-to-day ICU operations and supports employees who are providing patient care to ensure the best clinical outcomes. Additionally the ANM will assume all responsibilities of the nurse manager in his/her absence. Responsibilities
Talent Development:
- Hires fires evaluates disciplines staff within defined organizational parameters
- Provides specific and timely feedback to employees to improve performance
- Monitors and manages variances from expected performances
- Plans and implements employee developments actions/initiatives with employees
- Develops and implements action plans to address and correct fit issues with lead/employee staff
Resources and Revenue Enhancement Use:- Assists with managing case costs/visit costs.
- Monitors OnBase invoices to ensure accuracy.
- Assures staff is properly trained to identify and enter all charges for services delivered.
- Monitors and assists staff with timeliness of charting/corrections.
- Identifies and recommends opportunities for improvement in revenue production and cost reduction.
Clinical Excellence/Patient Care
- Participates in staffing 50% of their 1.0 FTE.
- Supervises nursing/patient care activities within their scope.
- Anticipates barriers to satisfactions and plans to prevent.
- Implements improvement strategies.
- Observes techniques and services rendered by nursing staff to ensure adherence to hospital guidelines.
- Observes nursing care and visits patients to ensure that nursing care is carried out as directed and treatment administered in accordance with physician instructions.
- Interacts professionally with all patients and family members.
- Implements strategies and initiatives to achieve established safety goals
Qualifications
Education:
Graduate of accredited nursing program
BSN Preferred
Experience:
Three years acute care experience.
Prefer three (3) year experience in Surgical Services or demonstrated clinical efficiency.
Licensure:
Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Iowa and Illinois.
Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain certification within three (3) months from date of hire.
