We are looking for aJourney Level Machinistto join our ServicesAMEteam in United States.
Your main tasks and responsibilities:
- Performs layouts sets up and operates conventional machine tools as requiredReads and interprets all drawings including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
- Designs setups and methods where none exist
- Instructs other shop personnel in proper machining techniques: set-ups feeds and speeds for both carbide and high-speed steel cutting tools methods and standard operating procedures
- Improves methods for higher quality and improved costs
- Assist maintenance in diagnosis repair and preventative maintenance
- Operate jib cranes and forklifts as directed by Supervisor/Area Supervisor
- Supports cooperates with and participates in company-wide safety program which includes following all safety policies and procedures
- Supports and cooperates in company-wide quality management effort
- Performs other duties as necessary
To succeed in this role you will need:
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Completion of a machinist apprentice program or equivalent training
- Ability to hold close tolerances and conduct component inspections
- Demonstrated ability to effectively set up all or at least most of the following machines: I.D./O.D. grinder turret lathe engine lathe knee mill radial drill horizontal boring mill vertical boring mill and planer mill
- Ability to perform with a minimum of direct supervision
- Working knowledge of tool geometry and application
- Working knowledge of effects of feeds and speeds
- 4 years experience in machine shops on the above equipment
- Willingness to work in a team environment
- Ability to work overtime as required
