We are looking for aJourney Level Machinistto join our ServicesAMEteam in United States.

Your main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Performs layouts sets up and operates conventional machine tools as requiredReads and interprets all drawings including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
  • Designs setups and methods where none exist
  • Instructs other shop personnel in proper machining techniques: set-ups feeds and speeds for both carbide and high-speed steel cutting tools methods and standard operating procedures
  • Improves methods for higher quality and improved costs
  • Assist maintenance in diagnosis repair and preventative maintenance
  • Operate jib cranes and forklifts as directed by Supervisor/Area Supervisor
  • Supports cooperates with and participates in company-wide safety program which includes following all safety policies and procedures
  • Supports and cooperates in company-wide quality management effort
  • Performs other duties as necessary

To succeed in this role you will need:

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Completion of a machinist apprentice program or equivalent training
  • Ability to hold close tolerances and conduct component inspections
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively set up all or at least most of the following machines: I.D./O.D. grinder turret lathe engine lathe knee mill radial drill horizontal boring mill vertical boring mill and planer mill
  • Ability to perform with a minimum of direct supervision
  • Working knowledge of tool geometry and application
  • Working knowledge of effects of feeds and speeds
  • 4 years experience in machine shops on the above equipment
  • Willingness to work in a team environment
  • Ability to work overtime as required
