Title: Senior DevOps / Software Release EngineerLocation: Hybrid Must be local to Phoenix AZ; onsite 12 times per month
Type: Contract to Hire
Join a collaborative DevOps team focused on improving software delivery through automation and modern development practices. This role emphasizes the design and enhancement of CI/CD pipelines and internal tools supporting frequent reliable releases in a well-balanced work environment with minimal overtime and no offshore dependencies.
Your role:
- Build and refine CI/CD pipelines to automate builds testing and deployments using GitHub Actions and Jenkins
- Manage release processes and oversee deployments to development UAT and production environments
- Monitor and analyze system performance logs and alerts to maintain application stability and uptime
- Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to support smooth release cycles
- Lead code promotion and artifact deployment activities across all environments
- Recommend and implement improvements to deployment processes and toolsets
- Contribute to planning design and delivery of technical solutions
- Create and present release metrics and progress updates to leadership
- Promote DevOps practices and support an Agile development environment
- Troubleshoot deployment issues and resolve infrastructure or pipeline-related errors
What youve got:
- Hands-on experience with GitHub Bitbucket or other version control systems
- Proficiency in CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions and Jenkins
- Strong scripting skills in Bash PowerShell or similar languages
- Experience supporting Java-based builds using Maven Gradle or equivalent
- Working knowledge of Linux and Windows environments
- Familiarity with Jira Confluence and Agile development practices
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced setting and manage multiple projects
- High level of personal accountability and attention to detail
Preferred:
- Exposure to Spring Boot or container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
- Prior experience supporting enterprise software releases in Agile/Scrum teams
