The Nutrition and Food Services (NFS) Utility Worker (Transport Driver) works in the patient food services and retail food setting. This position will travel between Dartmouth General Hospital Nova Scotia Hospital Victoria General Hospital and the Veterans Memorial Building during each shift and other sites as needed. This position is responsible to drive a 5-ton truck transporting food and goods between hospital sites. The position is responsible and accountable to accuracy of deliveries including putting away orders utilizing a standardized process.
The position will also be responsible for preparing serving and distribution of meals and supplies to patients staff families and customers. As well as taking meal orders using computer software program. Additionally they are responsible for cleaning equipment dishes and utensils as well as ensuring overall cleanliness of their work. The Utility Worker (Transport) also supports safe food handling procedures and overall service excellence providing safe prompt efficient transport and storage of NFS supplies equipment etc. between sites of the Nova Scotia Health Central Zone. This position may also work as a Utility Worker in Nutrition & Food Services without driving responsibilities on some days.

$20.13 - $21.69 Hourly
