JOB SUMMARY
This position helps Head Start parents and families identify and achieve their goals by providing comprehensive mental health social services and parent involvement opportunities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
Reports to the Program Administrator and the building principal.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Expected to attend one evening parent meeting per month; expected to visit families in their homes; may need to provide transportation for parents and children.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience
Must have two years experience in the Human Services field and two years case management experience plus one of the following: Associates Degree in Social Service or Bachelors in related field Masters in Social Work preferred.
Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training or equivalent is required. Training is provided upon hire.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Ability to work with and advocate on behalf of low-income and diverse families. Ability to collaborate effectively with children families community members and staff of diverse backgrounds. Ability to identify strengths plan and advocate to meet family goals. Ability to build relationships and collaborate with other community agencies. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to plan organize schedule and keep accurate records.
Licenses/Special Requirements
Proof of physical examination including a TB skin test is required. A statement from a doctor or a chest x-ray must be provided for those who test positive. Must CPR/First Aid certification within 90 days of hire. Ability to operate computers and learn specific software. May require a reliable means of transportation and a valid Washington state drivers license if position requires travel between schools. First-aid/CPR training preferred.
SALARYSalary is based upon the currentESP Salary Schedule Salary(Level I); placement on the salary schedule will be determined by Human Resources DOE. FLSA Non-Exempt.
