This is a hybrid role with regular travel in the London area. All applicants must have the right to live and work in the UK.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
As a Data Engineer specialising in Snowflake youll contribute to the design development and optimisation of cloud data platforms often working with a wide array of cloud services and tools. Youll play a hands-on role in delivering data solutions that help clients extract insight and business value while also promoting engineering best practices.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Designing and implementing scalable data warehouse solutions using Snowflake
- Building efficient ELT/ETL pipelines using DBT and other modern tooling
- Writing and optimising complex SQL queries for large datasets
- Applying software engineering principles to data systems including version control testing monitoring and CI/CD
- Working with cloud infrastructure on platforms like AWS Azure or GCP
- Performing architectural assessments and selecting fit-for-purpose solutions in collaboration with clients
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deploy and operate solutions in production
- Supporting real-time and near-real-time data analytics initiatives
- Leveraging orchestration tools such as Airflow Dagster Azure Data Factory or Fivetran
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
- Solid experience designing and delivering Snowflake-based data warehouse solutions
- Strong background performing architectural assessments and collaborating with stakeholders to define optimal solutions
- Strong SQL skills with experience across relational and non-relational databases
- Proficiency in a modern programming language such as Python Java or Scala
- Hands-on experience using DBT for pipeline development and transformation
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS Azure or GCP
- Knowledge of orchestration tooling (e.g. Airflow Dagster Azure Data Factory Fivetran)
Desirable:
- Experience deploying AI/ML models in production environments
- Familiarity with AWS data services (e.g. S3 Glue Kinesis Athena)
- Exposure to real-time data streaming and analytics paradigms
