About Us

AMAH Statewide Services include:

  • WREN Womens Recovery Network (Ramsay Albert Road Clinic)
  • Ngamai Wilam Residential Eating Disorder Treatment Centre (Armadale)

These newly developed servicesuse the Open Dialogue approach emphasisingcollaborative person-centred carethat empowers individuals and their support networks. WREN and Ngamai Wilam areleading the way in trauma-informed recovery-focused mental health care offering a unique opportunity for clinicians to be part of something truly transformative.

About the Role

This position is sessional and provides an opportunity to develop specialist skills in art therapy within an eating disorder and mental health setting.

As ourArt Therapist you will:

  • Play a vital role in supporting individuals on their recovery journeywithin a residential eating disorder program.
  • Facilitateindividual and group art therapy sessions that align with recovery-oriented principles and participants therapeutic goals
  • Utilise creative interventions to explore themes of identity self-esteem body image and emotional processing in a safe and supportive environment
  • Workautonomously within a small supportive team with direct access to leadership and clinical expertise.
  • Collaborate closely withnurses peer workers dietitians and lived experience practitionersin a trulymultidisciplinary environment.
  • Contribute to service development and innovation ensuring best-practice care for participants.

About You

  • Tertiary qualifications in Art Therapy or equivalent (e.g. masters in art therapy) andeligibility for professional membership with the Australian New Zealand and Asian Creative Arts Therapies Association (ANZACATA).
  • Experienceproviding art therapy within mental health services preferably in eating disorder treatment trauma recovery or inpatient/residential settings
  • Apassion for working with individuals experiencing eating disordersand a commitment torecovery-oriented practice.
  • Experience (or strong interest) in eating disordersacross hospital community or specialised programs (desirable).
  • Postgraduate qualifications or working towards (desirable).
  • Minimum of two years post-graduate clinical experience in a mental health or related setting.
  • A strong understanding of theVictorian Mental Health and Wellbeing Act (2022)and relevant legislation.
  • Current Victorian DriverLicense Working with Children Check and Background Check.
