Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Assistant Controller to join our growing property management team. The ideal candidate will support the Controller in overseeing the financial operations of a diverse real estate portfolio ensuring accuracy in reporting compliance with regulations and efficiency in accounting processes.

Locations: Corporate Office- 1212 Long Beach Blvd Long Beach CA 90813
Pay Rate: $100k-$120k/year
Essential Functions:
Assist in the preparation of monthly quarterly and annual financial statements
Oversee accounts payable accounts receivable and general ledger functions
Manage month-end and year-end close processes
Support budgeting forecasting and variance analysis
Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal financial policies
Coordinate audits and liaise with external auditors
Supervise and mentor property accountants
Maintain property-level financial records and ensure timely reporting
Assist with cash flow management and bank reconciliations
Implement process improvements and internal controls
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field
5 years of accounting experience preferably in real estate or property management
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. Yardi Appfolio)
Excellent analytical organizational and communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Affordable Housing knowledge is a plus
Skills
Experience with multi-entity accounting
Familiarity with CAM reconciliations and lease accounting
Commercial & Residential property management experience
Advanced Excel skills
