President
The WDA Insurance & Services Corp (doing business as Professional Insurance Programs) is seeking to hire a full-time President as the current President is retiring after 30 years with the company. The position is based out of Milwaukee WI (6737 W. Washington St Ste 2360).
Professional Insurance Programs is the for-profit subsidiary of the Wisconsin Dental Association (WDA) with a vision to be a stable forward-focused company with a culture that promotes teamwork diversity creativity and learning while ultimately providing financial support to the WDA in a responsible manner.
For 40 years Professional Insurance Programs has partnered with Wisconsin associations to ensure members receive quality insurance programs from the most respected carriers in the industry at competitive prices.
The President is responsible for managing the day-to-day affairs of the company under the oversight of the Board of Directors. The President works with the Board of Directors to develop strategic and operational plans and initiatives; formulate and recommend policies and programs that will further the objectives of the company. The President serves as the primary liaison between the Board and the staff and works closely with the WDA Executive Director to ensure there is proper communication and cohesion between the organizations. The President attends meetings of the Board of Directors as well as the WDA Board of Trustees and House of Delegates along with other WDA and industry events. The President is responsible for the overall management of the programs activities and fiscal affairs of the company and directs either directly or through subordinate managers all approved programs and activities of the staff. The President develops annual program budgets with the WDA Director of Finance and approval of the Board and ensures that the physical and financial assets of the company are safeguarded and used as intended.
The President will also oversee the day-to-day management of the companys captive insurance program and work closely with the captive management firm and captive Board of Directors to ensure the Board receives regular financial updates. The President will also work with the captive fronting company to ensure acceptable risks are approved while reviewing coverage premiums and cessions are adequate and reviewed on a regular basis.
While most work is performed at the office some time will be spent in meetings some taking place over weekends and during evening hours. Travel generally in state is required with some events requiring overnight stays.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent people skills and a collaborative leadership style in addition to strong communication management and organizational skills. The candidate must have a high level of integrity and maintain relationships with members and other key stakeholders who have differing opinions. The candidate should have an advanced general education consistent with a bachelors degree program; knowledge and expertise in a broad range of insurance products and services as well as their application to individual and business settings; possess all required Federal state and local licenses and certifications; maintain knowledge through continuing education and advanced industry designations; possess specific knowledge of the legal and regulatory environment governing non-profit organizations and the relationships between these organizations and for-profit subsidiaries is preferred but not required.
