Purpose and Scope:
The Tower Laborer supports the installation replacement and repair of telecommunications equipment on towers and performs maintenance under close supervision.
Responsibilities:
- The basic use and care of hand tools and mechanical equipment.
- Knowing the hazards associated with tower climbing construction equipment and working on or near energized lines and equipment.
- Analyzing situations accurately and adopt an appropriate course of action.
- Communicating orally and in writing.
- Following instructions accurately and complete assigned course of action.
- Recognizing safety hazards and performing duties in a safe manner.
- Work under close supervision.
- Must be available to work weekends and/or nights in extreme weather conditions if necessary and be willing to travel extensively.
- Must be able to work out of market or away from home as work demands.
Skills:
- Schedule flexibility for weekends nights or extended travel. Extensive travel should be anticipated-away from home or out-of-market as needed.
- Communication skills both verbal and written.
- Able to work under close supervision.
Work Environment:
- Must be willing to work irregular hours travel frequently and work at great heights in extreme weather condition
Details:
Physical Requirements:
- The ability to climb tall structures (100 feet or more) with 50 lb. load.
- Prior laboring experience is preferred but not required.
Education and Training:
- High school diploma or GED equivalency.
- Clean and current Drivers license (MVR check) in applying State.
- Basic use and care of tools and equipment.
- Must have or be willing to acquire OSHA 10 certification RF safety awareness & competent climber cert.
Compensation:$18.00 - $23.00/hr
