Job Description
The Laundry Washer will ensure the proper sorting and distribution of laundry to meet Seelbach Hiltons high standards of quality.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Empty the laundry chute and prepare loads for washer.
- Pre-sort and separate linen by classification and transfer by lifting carrying or transporting to work stations.
- Run folding equipment to fold mats blankets towels bedspreads etc.; includes running ironer.
- Separate out laundry requiring mending or special stain removal.
- Clean empty hampers.
SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS:
In addition to performance of the essential functions this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the hotel.
- Provide assistance to washer by pushing carts from washing to drying area.
- Other duties as assigned such as assisting Washer/Dryer when requested.
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE SKILL AND ABILITY
The individual must possess the following knowledge skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation using some other combination of skills and abilities.
- Ability to lift bend stoop carry push or pull heavy loads and stand for long periods of time. May require lifting bundles (linen) weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to push and/or pull wheeled carts weighing up to 100 lbs.
- Basic ability to comprehend English language sufficient to understand information such as safety labels and instructions.

Any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities.
