Ororas Ballarat site is a key player in our rapidly expanding Cans business supporting demand across Australia New Zealand and Oceania. With recent and ongoing investment were on track to increase our ANZ production capacity by over 30% by FY30. Ororas dynamic Can Ends manufacturing facility in Ballarat is the only Can End plant across our Australia and New Zealand business which is run and managed by a high-performing site team who are driving innovation and growth in the packaging industry.
The Role
We are seeking a Mechanical Systems or Mechatronics Engineer who is an innovator with their own ideas and ready to take ownership of the role. As a Mechanical Systems Engineer youll play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production lines. Youll dive into analysing equipment and plant reliability identifying system gaps and driving improvements to enhance efficiency and machine uptime. This role also offers the opportunity to contribute to exciting capital and process improvement projects making it an ideal next step for an engineer ready to make a real impact in a fast-paced technically advanced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse production performance and machine reliability to identify areas for improvement
- Collaborate with the production team to troubleshoot issues and determine root causes
- Recommend and implement innovative solutions to enhance machine reliability
- Support daily plant operations and help to implement best practice across all lines
- Drive continuous improvement
- Promote a safe healthy and environmentally compliant workplace
About You
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronic
- 3 years of experience in a similar role within a fast paced manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes with the ability to identify and implement process improvements
- Has an understanding electrical systems and PLC knowledge
- Experienced in maintenance planning project management and Pneumatics
