Internal Notice for Teamster Team Members: This posting will create a non-probationary internal Teamster eligibility list and fill 1 vacancyfor this classification. The current vacancy is in the PUBLIC WORKS department. The internal Teamster eligibility list will be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to one hundred and eighty (180) days. Non-probationary Teamster team members successfully completing the selection process will be placed on the internal Teamster eligibility list. All other team members including part-time/temporary employees along with external candidates may apply for this recruitment. These individuals may be considered after the appropriate recruitment process of the collective bargaining agreement has been followed. If the vacancy is not filled through promotion by a full-time non-probationary Teamster team members the next opportunity for placement will be to hire qualified part-time/temporary employees and external candidates.

ESSENTIAL INFORMATION
THE ROLE
Performs technical paraprofessional office and field engineering work including designing drafting plan checking surveying and related work. Technical supervision is exercised over lower-level technical personnel.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate for this position is a detail-oriented and highly organized technical professional with a strong foundation in civil engineering principles and practices. They possess expertise in drafting surveying and reviewing public works and utility plans ensuring compliance with city codes standards and specifications. Has the ability of interpreting complex engineering documents legal descriptions and construction plans and has experience coordinating with internal teams developers contractors and utility companies. Strong analytical communication and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role along with proficiency in computer-aided drafting (CAD) and GIS software. The ideal candidate thrives in both independent and team-oriented environments demonstrates initiative and has the ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.

SELECTION PROCESS
Note: Subsequent vacancies during the life of the internal eligibility list may require participation in an additional selection interview. The selection interview will be weighted 100% requiring a passing score of 70% in order to be considered for the subsequent position vacancy.
The selection process may include any combination of written performance and oral assessments to evaluate job-related education experience knowledge skills and abilities.
