The Department
The Alfred is home to one of Victorias most comprehensive gastroenterology Alfred Gastroenterology Department is responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of patientswith suspected or established gastrointestinal and liver disease including the appropriate utilisation ofdiagnostic and therapeutic gastrointestinal endoscopy and other investigations. Clientele includeinpatients admitted electively or via the Emergency Department directly to the Gastroenterology Unitor referred for investigation and management from other Units within The Alfred as well asoutpatients managed in the General Gastroenterology Hepatitis Liver Inflammatory Bowel DiseaseFunctional GI Disorders (FGID) PEG Hepatoma and Endoscopy Clinics. The Department pridesitself on the provision of high-quality ambulatory care of chronic illness in such highly specialisedclinics.
The Role
The Gut Directed Hypnotherapist will be employed on a part-time basis (8 hours per week) onThursday and Friday afternoons to provide clinical services to patients of the Functional Gut with other members of the multi-disciplinary team and participation in the weekly caseconference is an important aspect of the position.
Qualifications/Skills Requires
Essential: Postgraduate qualifications in Hypnotherapy recognized by membership of the Australian Hynotherapists Association or Hypnotherapy Council of Australia
Preferred: BSc or BPsychology (or equivalent)
Experience Required:
>1 2 years experience performing gut directed hypnotherapy
