Overview:
Turn2Partners is partnering with a mission-driven faith-based nonprofit dedicated to supporting at-risk youth through residential treatment services in Northern Virginia. This organization provides trauma-informed care to boys and girls aged 1218 including youth with behavioral health challenges survivors of abuse and exploitation pregnant or parenting teens and others in need of stability and structured support.
We are actively seeking compassionate and dependable Residential Youth Counselors to support the daily care supervision and emotional development of youth in a 24/7 therapeutic setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and mentor youth while ensuring a safe and structured residential environment
Promote healthy routines emotional regulation and positive behavior
Conduct routine wellness and headcount checks (every 1530 minutes depending on shift)
Support treatment plan goals in collaboration with clinicians and supervisors
Document daily activities behavioral observations and any incidents accurately and thoroughly
Conduct waiver-based drug testing as required (post-home visits runaways etc.)
Provide consistent oversight and maintain awareness of resident whereabouts at all times
Facilitate transitions activities family visitation and community involvement
Adhere to all protocols related to safety HIPAA compliance and crisis response
Attend all required trainings and actively pursue ongoing development
Communicate effectively with teammates and contribute to a cohesive treatment team
Other duties as assigned by program leadership
Qualifications:
Required: High school diploma and a minimum of 6 months working with youth in a professional setting
Preferred: Bachelors degree in Human Services or ongoing coursework toward a degree
Must be 21 years of age or older (as required by licensing standards)
Valid drivers license and ability to meet insurability standards
Ability to remain calm under pressure and provide stable supervision in dynamic environments
Strong documentation communication and conflict resolution skills
Passion for serving youth and working in a culturally competent trauma-informed setting
Ability to complete training on medication administration and testing protocols
Must pass background and compliance screenings per state/federal guidelines
