Risk Analyst (Controls)

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Risk and Control Advisory team at Mercer Super. This role will be based in Melbourne or Sydney. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

We will count on you to:

  • Assist in documenting designing implementing and monitoring internal controls to ensure regulatory compliance and mitigate operational risks.
  • Conduct Line 1 control testing evaluate effectiveness and recommend improvements to identified gaps.
  • Collaborate with various business units to gather insights related to risk and control activities and act as a point of contact for inquiries.
  • Collect and analyse data related to risk and control activities preparing reports that highlight key findings and trends.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements within the risk and control framework and stay informed about industry trends and regulatory changes.

What you need to have:

  • 1-3 years of experience in risk management compliance or control advisory within the superannuation or financial services industries.
  • A foundational understanding of superannuation business activities products and associated regulations.
  • Strong analytical skills and effective communication abilities to convey risk concepts clearly.

What makes you stand out:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a business-related discipline (desirable).
  • Experience within internal audit or controls testing is desirable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with data analysis tools.
  • A proactive approach with a strong desire to develop expertise in risk management.
