Job Description
Operation Blessing (OB) is seeking a Disaster Preparedness Technician to support our Global Disaster Relief programs. Based in Grand Prairie TX this role is responsible for managing logistics inventory and equipment readiness as well as supporting product reception and distribution. The technician plays a vital role in preparing for on-site volunteer events and community outreach initiatives including Local Hunger Relief efforts. This position also contributes to disaster preparedness at multiple locations and provides hands-on logistical support during response deployments including equipment convoying and site mobilization.
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
- Working knowledge of warehouse operations logistics equipment and inventory management systems
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and industry-standard inventory software applications
- Experience with fleet maintenance systems preferably Fleetio or similar platforms
- Familiarity with transportation and inventory tracking systems used in disaster relief or warehousing
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to lead motivate and manage teams effectively
- Strong team player with the ability to work under pressure in fast-paced high-stress environments; able to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Willingness and ability to travel as needed including with limited notice (24 hours or less) to support disaster response operations
- Ability to make authorized credit card purchases on behalf of the organization when required
- Physically able to stand walk bend and lift up to 75 pounds on a regular basis
- Valid drivers license with clean driving record
- Current forklift certification (or ability to obtain and maintain)
- Class B Commercial Drivers License (CDL) or willingness and ability to obtain
