What Youll Do
- Respond to fire rescue and medical emergencies with professionalism and urgency.
- Deliver high-quality pre-hospital care as an EMT or Paramedic making a real difference in critical moments.
- Operate and maintain firefighting apparatus equipment and facilities.
- Participate in ongoing training drills and community outreach.
- Uphold the highest standards of safety teamwork and public service.
What Were Looking For
- Certification: Iowa or National Firefighter I (Firefighter II preferred) Hazardous Materials Operations and Iowa EMT-Basic or Paramedic certification.
- Experience: Lateral entry available for those with 23 years of full-time experience in a comparable agency.
- Requirements: Valid Iowa drivers license; age 1864; all required certifications submitted with application.
- Physical Readiness: Completion of a current physical agility evaluation and written exam through the Central Iowa Fire and EMS Testing Consortium.
- Character: Integrity reliability and a strong desire to serve.
Must submit copies of all required certifications with your application.Successful completion of post-offer criminal background screening drug test and physical required for all positions
