Job Description

Contract with a Local Authority
Job Summary:
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Social Worker (Level 2/3) to join the Children and Family Services team.
The role involves undertaking assessments and providing statutory social work support to children and families in accordance with national legislation local policies and best practice.
You will be expected to manage complex casework work effectively within a multidisciplinary environment and ensure timely and effective safeguarding interventions.

Key Duties/Accountabilities (Sample):
Undertake assessments and provide social work services to children and families under relevant statutory duties.
Manage and review care plans ensuring the needs and safety of children are paramount.
Carry out comprehensive risk assessments and safeguard the most vulnerable children.
Prepare detailed analytical reports and statements for legal proceedings and attend court when required.
Participate in the duty rota responding to referrals completing Section 47 enquiries and Child and Family Assessments.
Work collaboratively with a range of professionals including health police housing education and other partner agencies.
Maintain accurate and timely case recordings in line with policy.
Ensure interventions are informed by up-to-date research and local practice guidance.
Provide support and supervision for social work students.
Participate in regular supervision team meetings and professional development activities.
Comply with the organisation s Equality Diversity Health and Safety and Information Security policies.

Skills/Experience:
Sound knowledge of the Children Acts 1989 and 2004 Leaving Care Act 2000 and other relevant legislation and policy frameworks.
Strong written and verbal communication skills including report writing and IT literacy.
Ability to undertake complex assessments and case planning in line with safeguarding procedures.
Experience of working with children and families from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
Proven skills in direct work with children and working in partnership with parents/carers.
Excellent time management and ability to meet strict deadlines.
Completion of the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE).
Proficiency in using integrated children s systems and electronic case management tools.
Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development and achieving positive outcomes for children.

Additional Information:
Degree in Social Work (minimum 2:1 classification if applicable) or equivalent.
Social Work England registration.
This role involves both office-based and community work with flexibility around hybrid working arrangements where applicable.
