Job Purpose
- We are excited to invite applications for a Senior Social Worker to join our vibrant rewarding and highly supportive team. This role demands a motivated and experienced practitioner who brings deep expertise in complex case management and a genuine commitment to improving the lives of children and families. The ideal candidate will take on challenging and rewarding work involving court proceedings permanency planning and in-depth family assessments. You will play a crucial role in securing positive outcomes for vulnerable children by delivering high-quality evidence-based interventions and assessments.
Key Duties/Accountabilities
- Manage a complex caseload including care proceedings and permanency planning.
- Prepare clear robust reports including:
- Child Permanence Reports (CPRs)
- Annex A reports
- Parenting Assessments and Viability Assessments
- Final evidence for court submissions
- Conduct thorough and evidence-informed risk assessments.
- Represent the Trust in court demonstrating confident presentation and strong advocacy skills.
- Ensure timely and effective care planning in line with legislation guidance and best practice.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams legal representatives and external agencies to secure positive outcomes for children.
- Maintain up-to-date accurate and detailed case recordings and documentation.
- Contribute to team development and mentoring of less experienced colleagues where appropriate.
Essential Experience Required
- Demonstrable experience as a Senior Social Worker in a statutory childrens services setting is essential.
- Minimum of 3 5 years post-qualification experience working within Children s Services is essential.
Essential Qualification Required
- Being a qualified Social Worker (SWE registered) is essential.
Additional Information to Note
- Working hours: 36.50 hours per week.
- The role requires a DBS check.
