Sandblasting / Paint Prep
Pay:$16/hour
Hours:Monday Friday 6:00 AM 3:30 PM (potential Saturdays; hours may vary based on workload)
Job Type:Temp-to-Hire
Location:North Tulsa
Position Summary
This position is responsible for preparing metal surfaces for painting and coating through sandblasting cleaning and other surface treatment methods to ensure high-quality finishes.
Primary Responsibilities
Operate sandblasting equipment to clean and prepare metal surfaces for paint or coating
Inspect parts for rust scale and contaminants before and after blasting
Perform masking taping and prep work to protect surfaces not designated for blasting or painting
Clean and degrease parts using solvents or cleaning agents
Assist in mixing and preparing paint materials as needed
Maintain a clean and organized work environment including safe disposal of hazardous materials
Follow safety protocols and wear all required PPE
Conduct routine maintenance on sandblasting and paint prep equipment
Collaborate with painters and production staff to ensure workflow efficiency and adherence to quality standards
Required Skills & Abilities
12 years of experience in sandblasting industrial painting or surface preparation
Familiarity with proper safety procedures and handling hazardous materials
Ability to read and interpret work orders and technical drawings
Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods
Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
