Job Description

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

We are looking for an FA engineer with extensive experience in the analysis of electronic components and the required advanced tools and methods. The role involves identifying most complex root cause defects in electronic and electro-mechanical products as well as assessing the quality of electronic components. The ideal candidate will also have experience in component manufacturing and testing enabling them to pinpoint possible origins of the failures and propose corrective actions. Additional tasks include collaboration with design engineering supplier quality management manufacturing quality engineers and suppliers to improve the quality of Continental products. The FA engineer will create detailed analysis reports provide technical support for findings and share experience within a global organization of analysis labs.

 

We are currently hiring two FA engineer positions for our QL Harmon Road analysis lab. One of these positions will include supervisory responsibilities for a small analysis team of 5-8 engineers contingent upon the candidates people management qualifications.


Qualifications :

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE 

Skill Set:

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong written report and presentation skills
  • Ability to communicate highly technical issues/results in simple terms.
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in local and international teams and share knowledge.
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work under pressure.

 

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in analysis of electronic or electro-mechanical components.
  • Strong proficiency in methods and tools for analysis of electronic components including at least 3 of the following: optical imaging cross-sectioning component decapsulation Scanning Electron Microscopy/EDX Scanning Acoustic Microscopy (SAM) Focused Ion Beam (FIB) Auger Microprobe X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS).
  • Experience in component manufacturing and testing preferably in the automotive or electronics industry.

 

Education:

  • Bachelors degree in electrical engineering or equivalent required Masters degree preferred

ADDITIONAL WAYS TO STAND OUT 

  • Masters Degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
  • Familiar with automotive product electronic design quality validation and manufacturing processes.
  • Aware of current industry standards and regulations related to electronic and electro-mechanic components.
  • Experience with 2D/3D X-ray imaging techniques
  • Experience in leading a small team (direct or indirect)
