KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to Heydays Head of Development the Development Executives responsibilities include:
- originating identifying and developing new ideas for TV series in line with Heydays business plan/development strategy
- reading submitted books and scripts - both solicited and unsolicited
- assisting with and managing all development aspects of projects e.g. editing scripts and writing notes and pitch documents
- identifying strong writing talent
- talent management and development from rising stars to established talent
- pitching projects to commissioners/buyers
Qualifications :
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Established track record / attributes in the following areas:
- Successfully sourcing developing managing and pitching scripted television projects; an international dimension is a plus
- Experience of script editing series
- Excellent one-to-one agency and writer/talent relationships in the UK and ideally international
- A reputation for and track record of spotting talent and developing relationships in the industry
- Experience of working with upcoming writing talent as well as established writers

- Tact diplomacy and sensitivity when dealing with writers producers etc
- An understanding of and appreciation for the current and future UK US and European production environments
- Commercial time-sensitive approach to development with a good understanding of the bigger picture notably of the commissioning and production processes
- A desire to develop projects across the spectrum from originals to adaptations UK shows to international productions
