Responsibilities
Oversee maintain and monitor subrecipient and other contractual agreements budgets staffing plans time and effort reports; develop tools as needed to support these functions. Review subrecipient invoices for allowability of costs; respond to related inquires. Create and/or assist in preparing financial reports budgets and contracts. Update maintain and provide training of financial reporting tools used by subrecipients. Maintain and update Maine SNAP -Ed inventory. Develop and distribute financial guidance materials such as newsletters and procedural documents for subrecipients. Serve as a resource for subrecipients by responding to financial and contractual questions and troubleshooting issues as they arise. Confer regularly with program staff university departments external organizations and individuals to coordinate activities share information and resolve issues. Perform a variety of departmental administrative tasks including processing purchase orders reviewing invoices posting financial transactions scheduling meetings and maintaining contact lists. Provide fiscal training and orientation to Nutrition Educators. Review and update the Maine SNAP -Ed Program Manual and website to ensure current and accurate information. Ensure compliance with the University of New England Safety Manual and relevant policies. Perform other related duties as assigned. Travel throughout Maine as required.
Qualifications
Associate degree in business or other appropriate discipline with two to three years of relevant bookkeeping and grant experience or a combination of comparable education and experience. Basic knowledge and skills in general accounting/bookkeeping principles and procedures. Experience in grant fiscal management; familiarity with Uniform Guidance is preferred. Strong administrative and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Strong computer skills and proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills including grammar spelling and basic math competency. Ability to interact effectively with a diverse range of University personnel students and external partners. Experience with WordPress and familiarity with the University of New England systems desirable.
