ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Supervisor Events Management and Customer Support Services is responsible for operating and maintaining Audio/Visual (A/V) systems required for Council and its Committees including confidential in-camera sessions; planning and coordinating A/V systems used in Regional facilities; and assisting with the creation of in-house corporate presentation materials.
WHAT YOULL BE DOING
Maintains operates and provides technical support and assistance for A/V systems including providing on-site support for audio and video streaming of Regional Council meetings those of a confidential nature or in-camera sessions and special events both to the staff and public.
Determines needs of and assists with all A/V needs including meetings for senior management Regional staff senior officials from other levels of government the media and the public.
Provides technical support and operation of A/V systems for Corporate off-site events and venues including delivering carrying and setting up equipment often outside of normal working hours throughout York Region.
Provides technical assistance to the Supervisor in the planning design and implementation of A/V system requirements in corporate meeting rooms Regional off-site meeting rooms and at Corporate events.
Researches installs creates specific content and provides technical and training support to staff on audio/visual systems and various messaging systems throughout York Region facilities.
Plans designs coordinates and installs A/V systems in corporate and Regional off-site meeting rooms and assists with the installation including the determination and implementation of specific A/V systems to respond to the needs of people with disabilities.
Consults coordinates and operates cameras for live events.
Acts as technical liaison between the Corporation and Film/Video production companies who use Regional facilities for film or television productions and to assist the media to link television and radio systems to the Regional A/V system.
Liaises and collaborates with ITS Branch to meet A/V objectives for web-based communications messaging systems and A/V related server requirements for meetings and special events.
Provides technical direction to Regional employees who provide A/V services to the corporation and their departments on a temporary basis.
Maintains an orderly inventory and tracking system and ensures security for Corporate A/V equipment; maintains equipment and arranges for appropriate repairs as required.
Performs other duties as assigned in accordance with Branch and Department objectives.
WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR
Successful completion of a Community College Diploma in Film & TV Production or a related discipline or equivalent approved combination of education and experience.
Minimum three (3) years experience in the support repair and operation of Audio/Visual (A/V) technology.
Valid Ontario Class G license and a reliable vehicle for use on corporate business.
Extensive knowledge of A/V systems current trends and emerging technologies
Demonstrated understanding of the workings of municipal government.
Knowledge and demonstrated ability in corporate core competencies including communication innovation teamwork and collaboration and personal ownership.
Computer literacy utilizing MS Office software applications and proficiency in A/V related software and room booking software.
Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs.
Ability to withstand long periods of walking standing and frequent bending and twisting.
Ability to work outside regular business hours as required.
