Job Description

Summer Color guard Instructor

WORKING TIMES: July 7th-July 31st 8am-12pm 4-week commitment

REMUNERATION: $40/hour to not exceed $3200

POSITIONS: 1

JOB SUMMARY: The Everett Public Schools Summer Colorguard Program will serve students in Grades 712 offering specialized instruction in Colorguard Dance and Movement. We are seeking one instructor to lead this summer program and prepare students for a performance at the end of the session.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare and teach colorguard routines marching drill design and choreography.
  • Develop and deliver a comprehensive Colorguard Rifle and Dance Technique curriculum.
  • Support students in developing performance readiness and group coordination skills.
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor attendance and participation and provide regular feedback to students.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of an end-of-program performance.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during program hours.

Requirements

  • 2 years of experience teaching colorguard and/or dance technique
  • Strong organizational skills to plan practices prepare materials and coordinate performances
  • Knowledge of dance and colorguard pedagogy including modern movement practices



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior experience in a school-based or extracurricular performance program
  • Experience designing or directing public performances
  • Dance education or performance background
  • Foreign language proficiency
