ANTICIPATED OPENING. APPOINTMENT DEPENDENT UPON SUFFICIENT of the Position:This position is a part-time daytime summer position within the Minuteman Technical Institute with an anticipated start date of June 21 2025 and an end date of August 21 2025. Classes are held Monay through Thursday 7:30 AM 2:00 PM. There will be no class on July 3 2025 July 3 2021 or during the week of July 21-24 2025. The candidate is required to have at least 5 years recent work experience with teaching or training experience preferred. Applicants for this position will be expected to implement instruction with a strong focus on preparing participants for entry-level positions in the field upon program completion. The selected candidate for this position will be compensated at a rate of $90.00/hour for 208 hours Mondays through Thursdays over the course of the program. Compensation at the hourly rate of $90.00 for 5 hours will be provided for curriculum development to be done in partnership with the Executive Director. This grant-funded position is a non-bargaining unit exempt position which is not covered under the Minuteman Collective Bargaining Agreement and is not eligible for benefits. Employment will be contingent upon sufficient enrollment in the CTI Summer Carpentry Responsibilities:Plan implement and periodically update a program of study based upon the Massachusetts Vocational/Technical Curriculum Frameworks and industry-recognized credentials that meet the individual needs interests and abilities of students seeking employment in the work with local businesses and industries and other industry experts for continuous program a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of post-secondary the learning process toward curriculum and establish objectives for all lessons units and projects and communicate these objectives to post-secondary post-secondary students on a regular basis and provide progress all records necessary for reporting student grades performance and the documentation needed to support industry-recognized with colleagues and post-secondary students on a regular order in the classroom in a fair and just the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing post-secondary student the administration in implementing MTI (Minuteman Technical Institute) goals and policies related to the educational and operational needs of the MTI the condition of any other related task or duty at the direction of the Executive FOR THE POSITIONLicensed or licensable as a Chapter 74 Instructor by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in Carpentry preferred but not required. Must be familiar with safety hand tools power tools scaffolding MA building code blueprint reading construction theory and practice as well as knowledge in some or all the following: oMetal framingoLayout and framingoWood framingoFinish workIncorporate valid Industry Recognized Credentials (IRC) into the program. Minimum 2 years of teaching experience of 5 years recent (within the past 7 years) experience in the field of (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) 10-Hour Certification with Massachusetts Vocational Technical Curriculum Frameworks for Carpentry is required.
