Janitor/Housekeeper
Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Janitor/Housekeeper to maintain cleanliness and sanitation in our manufacturing and recycling facility. This role is essential in ensuring a safe clean and organized working environment by performing routine cleaning waste removal and basic facility upkeep. The ideal candidate is proactive safety-conscious and able to work in an industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform daily cleaning tasks including sweeping mopping and scrubbing floors in production break room locker room and office areas.
Collect and properly dispose of recycling materials production waste and general trash in accordance with site protocols.
Clean and sanitize restrooms locker rooms and break rooms; replenish supplies such as soap paper towels and toilet paper.
Clean walls windows equipment exteriors and other surfaces as assigned.
Ensure safe and appropriate use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
Monitor and restock cleaning supplies and notify supervisor when supplies are low.
Perform light maintenance tasks (e.g. replacing light bulbs minor repairs).
Follow all health safety and environmental policies and procedures.
Report maintenance or safety issues to the appropriate personnel.
Support facility cleanliness during inspections or audits.
May assist in facility shutdown or deep-cleaning operations.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous janitorial housekeeping or industrial cleaning experience preferred.
Ability to work independently and follow written/verbal instructions.
Comfortable working in environments that may be noisy dirty or require the use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
Willingness to work flexible hours or shifts including weekends or evenings if needed.
Work Environment:
Manufacturing and recycling plant setting.
Exposure to dust heat noise and industrial equipment.
Requires use of cleaning chemicals and PPE.
