Title: Special Education Paraeducator Pre-Apprentice

Information Regarding the Pre-Apprentice Program:
Education Support Professionals of the Ogden School District selected as a Paraeducator Pre-Apprentice will have on the job face to face interactions with students and staff in order to develop skills to achieve the Utah Standards for Instructional Paraeducators. Those selected need to be enrolled in a university that provides a program towards Special Education Teaching Licensure.

Program Description:
We are seeking motivated and dedicated individuals to participate in the Paraeducator Pre-Apprentice Program. In this program you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of students while collaborating with the teaching staff to create a positive and engaging educational environment.
A benefit of this program is enrolling in the Utah Registered Apprenticeship Program for Teachers (U-RAPT) a new pathway for those seeking an educator license. U-RAPT pre-apprentices are eligible to receive up to $4000 per year to cover college tuition fees and other instructional costs as funding permits.

As a Paraeducator Pre-Apprentice you will work under the supervision and guidance of assigned classroom teachers and a paraeducator journeyworker to help learn and demonstrate the Utah Instructional Paraeducator Standards. This role is a great stepping stone for those interested in pursuing a teaching career through the U-RAPT.
