Job Description
Winchester Cardiology and Vascular Medicine is seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our dynamic team. The LPN will play a critical role in supporting physicians and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) in the examination and treatment of patients. This position is essential to ensuring the smooth operation of our clinical office providing excellent patient care while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and efficiency.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Warmly greet patients and escort them to examination rooms to ensure a welcoming and efficient experience.
- Accurately measure and document vital signs including pulse blood pressure respiration height and weight in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Record and verify all current patient medications in the appropriate section of the EMR.
- Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) following established protocols.
- Conduct a brief review of interim health history relevant to the physicians examination.
- Notify the physician of any significant health changes hospitalizations or urgent concerns.
- Retrieve and organize necessary reports hospital records or other documentation to support comprehensive patient care.
- Assists patients in completing required forms such as health questionnaires and medical histories ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Inform the physician when the patient is ready for examination.
- Provide assistance to physicians during examinations and procedures as needed.
- Adhere to OSHA and HIPAA regulations to maintain patient safety and confidentiality.
- Monitor inventory levels order and restock clinical supplies to ensure seamless operations.
- Maintain clean organized and fully stocked examination rooms.
- Perform additional tasks or services as directed by the physician or administrator to support the team and ensure high-quality patient care.
Schedule
- Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of Virginia.
- Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Preferred: At least 1 year of experience in a medical office clinic or other healthcare setting.
- Proficiency with clinical tools including EKG machines sphygmomanometers and other basic medical instruments.
- Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA guidelines with the ability to maintain strict confidentiality and privacy of patient information.
