Job Description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Greenwich to assist with the appointment of a Service Improvement Officer on a 5-month contract highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: 18.30 - 23.05 per hour

Summary:

The Royal Borough of Greenwich is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Service Improvement Officer to handle high-level casework and support continuous service improvement across the Housing and Safer Communities Directorate. This role involves complaint and enquiry handling performance reporting and identifying opportunities for service change.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage complaints MP/member enquiries and statutory requests including FOI EIR and data protection matters.
  • Lead and support service improvement initiatives across the directorate.
  • Monitor and ensure timely casework responses escalating issues where necessary.
  • Liaise with senior managers on complex or urgent casework helping draft and refine responses.
  • Lead the use of the corporate casework system and ensure consistent process documentation.

Essential Requirements:

  • Experience handling complaints and formal enquiries in a local government or public sector setting.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills with ability to manage sensitive information.
  • Understanding of statutory information request procedures (FOI EIR DPR).
  • Project management and administrative skills in service improvement or performance monitoring.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working with senior managers councillors and external stakeholders.
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office and casework/performance systems.
