The Opportunity:

Additional Compensation:
Premiums: Corrections Health Nurses receive an additional 10% hourly premium and hourly differentials for working swing ($2.50/hr) graveyard ($5.50/hr) weekends ($3.50/hr) shifts..
As a newly hired Advanced Practice Clinician in Corrections Health you will receive a:
$20000 retention incentive after (1) one year of continuous regular employment.
$20000 retention incentive after (2) two years of continuous regular employment.
$20000 retention incentive after (3) two years of continuous regular employment.
All retention incentive bonuses are based on FTE (0.8 FTE and higher will not be prorated) . This retention incentive is taxable and all regular payroll taxes will be withheld.

The role of the Advanced Practice Clinician to provide comprehensive nursing care and treatment for justice involved individuals within Multnomah County. Emphasis of care is on the prevention control and treatment of diseases and on the promotion of positive health practices.
As an Advanced Practice Clinician in Corrections Health you will help serve in the Multnomah County Inverness Jail complex or the Justice Center
As the Advanced Practice Clinician other duties will include:
Providing consultation to nursing and other Corrections Health staff as indicated for continuity of client care.
Providing in-service to staff as a group or individually as requested.
Precept students when assigned.
Assist in developing and implementing protocols procedures and other teaching tools. Gives input into procedures and protocols.
Attend provider meetings as scheduled: Attending morning shift reports and contributing patient care planning and identification of patient needs.
Diagnosing and treating acute and chronic medical conditions according to scope of practice.
Conducting a medical history physical exams ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests.
Devise a course of treatment discussing alternative treatment risk and benefits of treatment. As well as prescribing and monitoring medications.
Review client records for needs for medications treatments education or referrals
Documenting appropriately in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
Provide After Hours Coverage as scheduled.

Minimum Qualifications/Transferable Skills*:
Education/Training:
Masters Degree in Nursing AND one (1) to four (4) years of experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
Certification Requirements:
License required to practice medicine as a Nurse Practitioner as outlined by Oregon Revised Statutes (ORS) 678.375 OR
License required to practice medicine as a Physician Assistant as outlined by Oregon Revised Statutes (ORS) 677.515
CPR certification required
DEA License
Other: Passing a Multnomah County Sheriffs Office background check is required

Experience working in a correctional facility.
Training or experience in working with Electronic Health Record systems.
